PITT-BRADFORD INKS 3+3 DEAL WITH PITT LAW

BRADFORD, Pa. – A new agreement allows qualified University of Pittsburgh at Bradford undergraduate students to complete both a bachelor’s and law degree in six years instead of the traditional seven.
The new agreement with the University of Pittsburgh School of Law creates a streamlined pathway for high-achieving Pitt-Bradford students to enter law school after their junior year, earning their undergraduate degree upon successful completion of their first year of law school studies.
“This partnership provides our students with an exceptional opportunity to accelerate their legal education while reducing both time and cost,” said Dr. James L. Baldwin, vice president for enrollment management at Pitt-Bradford. “We’re excited to offer this pathway to our academically talented and motivated students.”
Charmaine McCall, assistant dean of admissions and financial aid for the School of Law, added that the program gives the law school access to a diverse and highly qualified group of students with strong credentials.
To qualify for the accelerated admissions program, Pitt-Bradford students must complete at least 96 credits by the end of their junior year and fulfill all major and general education requirements. The program does not guarantee admission — students must still apply and be evaluated by the School of Law as regular applicants during their junior year.
The first students could apply to the program during the 2026-2027 academic year for admission in fall 2027. The law school expects to enroll one to five eligible students annually.
For Pitt-Bradford, the program offers a significant recruitment and retention advantage, while prospective law students receive a year’s reduction in tuition costs. Pitt-Bradford will confer the undergraduate degree upon successful completion of the first year of law school.
