Faith E. Cary, 86, of Coudersport, PA

Faith E. CARY, 86, of Coudersport, PA, formerly of Potter Brook Road, Westfield, PA, died Thursday, November 20, 2025, in UPMC Cole. Born January 10, 1939, in Wellsville, NY, she was the daughter of Howard Ellison and Rowena E. Little Stafford. On November 2, 1957, in Potter Brook, she married Arnold E. Cary, who predeceased her on February 25, 2015.
Faith was a remarkable woman. She loved life and was a life-long learner. Her hobbies included reading, painting, crocheting, sewing, hiking, Bible study classes and ancestry research, among other things. A member of the Susquehannock Trail Club, she enjoyed hiking many of the beautiful Pennsylvania trails with other members. Faith was known for her generosity, giving her time and financial resources. She was a gifted artist, seamstress, knitter and crocheter. She created afghans, quilts, bears, dolls and paintings that she donated to charities for fund raising.
Faith was the town of Westfield’s FIRST woman mail carrier in 1971. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 1997 after 24 years of service. She served on the board of United Christian Ministries for 38 years. United Christian Ministries serves the people of Tioga County. The Food Pantry served 488 people for the past month. They will provide over 1,000 toys for Toys for Tots this year. Faith was a very involved community member of Potter Brook. She was a member of the Potter Brook Happy Hour Club for many years, serving as an officer. She was very involved in the charitable work of the club and organizing Potter Brook Old Home Day. She was part of the volunteer group that set up the Potter Brook Public Library. Faith will be remembered for her love of family and friends, but most of all for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
Surviving are: four children, Roxanne Langianese of Lewis Run, Steven (Georgia) Cary of Woodhull, NY, Sandra (Steve Ryan) Cary of Nashville, TN, and Belinda (Randy) Rohrer of Coudersport; two daughters of the heart, Linda (Michael) Knowlton of Coudersport and Rita Mundim of Belo Horizonte, Brazil; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Thomas (Diana) Stafford of Memphis, TN and Paul (Cindy) Stafford of Lima, OH, Anita (Sam) Goebel of Kankakee, IL and Mary Bokoski of Lake Milton, OH; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Richard Langianese; and two siblings, Charity Cartwright and William Stafford.
Friends may call at the Gospel Tabernacle, Coudersport, on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. Rev. John Minor, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook.
