James W. Barr, 85, of Roulette

Roulette – James W. Barr, 85, of Roulette, passed away Saturday (November 8, 2025) at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
He was born January 12, 1940 in Roulette, the son of Elvin and Frieda (Lewis) Barr. On January 30, 1971, in Erie, PA, he married Joyce E. McKervey, who survives.
Jim attended Port Allegany High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961,
Jim worked as a fork lift operator for Pierce Glass Co. of Port Allegany. He retired after 38 years in 2002.
He was a member of the Port Allegany Veteran’s Memorial and a member of the Roulette Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by:
Two sons: Tim (Penny) Barr and Jim (Lou Ann) Barr, both of Port Allegany
Two daughters: Mindy (Burl) Hults of South Carolina and Lisa (Chris) Keck of Port Allegany
13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
One brother: Paul (Evelyn) Barr of Roulette
A special caregiver: Bridget Pilon
And several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Barr, a brother, Robert Barr, and a sister, Barbara McDowell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 4-6PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany, where funeral services will begin at 6PM in the funeral home with the Rev. James Kazimer, pastor of the First Church of God, Eldred, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard.
