Last week in review: Pennsylvania College of Technology’s fall sports teams went a combined 4-4-1, with the men’s soccer team winning both of its matches.
MEN’S SOCCER
Last week’s hometown highlights: In Tuesday’s win at Pitt-Greensburg, freshmen stepped up with Will Watson of Collegeville scoring the lone goal and goalkeeper Justin Crismale of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, making three stops and recording his second shutout. On Saturday, in a win at Keuka College, Silas Miller of Mechanicsburg scored unassisted in the 81st minute, and Crismale recorded shutout No. 3 in the goal.

Last week’s hometown highlights: In a defensive tussle, goalie Taylor Brownback of Birdsboro made two saves and recorded her third shutout of the season in a scoreless draw at Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday. On Saturday, in a win at Elmira College, Megan Kurian of Royersford scored twice, Sara Darlington of West Chester had two assists and Brownback earned shutout No. 4 in the goal.

Last week’s hometown highlights: Lilly Stockum of Dauphin had 11 kills and Nashalie Vializ of New Holland had 12 digs in Friday’s loss to Alfred State College. In Saturday’s double tri-match losses at Penn State Altoona, Stockum recorded 15 kills, including nine against Washington and Jefferson; Vializ had 24 digs, with 16 coming against PS Altoona; and Haylie Thomsen of High Bridge, New Jersey, added 17 digs, with 10 against PS Altoona.

MEN’S TENNIS
Last week’s hometown highlights: Frankie Gagliardi of Pottstown won three games at No. 4 singles to lead the Wildcats in their season-opening loss at Penn State Altoona on Wednesday. At crosstown rival Lycoming College on Friday, with the team score tied at three-all, Logan Ogden of South Williamsport pulled out a 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles to secure the victory. Also winning in singles for the Wildcats were Kyle Shuler of Williamsport at No. 1, Jayden Manbeck of Bethel at No. 4 and Gagliardi at No. 6, as the team improved to 7-6 lifetime against the Warriors.

Last week’s hometown highlights: In the season-opening Dutchmen Invitational at Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, Ben Causak of Lebanon finished 44th in a field of 181 over an 8K course in 28:32 to lead the men, who were 12th among 15 teams.
