Honorable Barbara L. Boser, 82, formerly of Fairview Heights, Bradford, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Barbara was born on October 30, 1939, in Bradford. She was a daughter of the late Louis and Kathryn (Sayers) Curcio. She graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1957 and throughout the years enjoyed making memories with her fellow classmates.
Barbara served as Magisterial District Judge for District 48-3-03 for 18 years, retiring in 2006.
Community service was a core passion of hers. She was the recipient of both the YWCA Victims Resource Center Community Collaboration Award (2005) and YWCA Women’s Leadership Award which honored her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. She was a Zonta Club member for many years and enjoyed helping with their community service efforts.
She was a former member of the St. Patrick Church in Limestone until its closing. At St. Patrick Church, she was a steadfast volunteer, including chair of the annual Lawn Fete and catechism teacher. She was a current member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She loved her family and was a loyal friend to many. She was an avid doll collector and recently donated her collection for the benefit of the Friendship Table. Barb also adored her cats.
Surviving are her children, Robert (Sarah Viglietta) Boser, Mary Boser, Jeffery (Laurie Maletto) Boser, and Lisa (Phil) Miller, all of Bradford, five grandchildren, Stephen (Rachana Lanka) Boser, Jessica (Jesse) Wright, Katie (Brian Chapman) Boser, Phillip Boser and Molly Boser, three great grandchildren, Holden Chapman, Makenzie Northeimer, and Oliver Chapman, one sister, Elizabeth Stayer, three sisters-in-laws, Gayle Curcio, Shirley Boser, and Rose Boser, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Karen Sica, one brother, Anthony Chris Curcio, one daughter-in-law, Vicki Boser, one niece, Noelle Curcio, and her former husband, Brian Boser.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 372 East Main Street. Friends are also invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:00 am in St. Francis Church. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to CARE for Children, Pink Pumpkin Project, or the Bradford Area United Way.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person.
I never told you but , I believe I was in your mother’s court room in the 90’s. She was a wonderful person even then.

So sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and friend. We were both Dristict Judges at the same time.
