Lawrence W. Anthony, 85, of St. Marys, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at his home following a short illness.
He was born on August 15, 1939, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Wilbert and Florence Smith Anthony.
On December 16, 1973, in Fairfax, VA, he married the late Margaret M. Brehm Titchner, who preceded him in death on March 13, 2017.
Larry served three years in The United States Marine Corps with an honorable discharge in October of 1963. After working as a locksmith in Memphis, Tennessee and Fairfax, Virginia he returned to St. Marys and opened Guardian Safe & Lock Company, which he owned and operated until the time of his death. Larry was a member of The CMF (Catholic Men’s Fraternal), the American Legion, and the Wilcox Sportsmen’s. He enjoyed watching old westerns with his best friend “Tigger the Cat” and spending time with the many other friends that he had.
He is also survived by two step-sons; Mark (Bekki) Titchner of Ridgway and Dwayne (Penny) Titchner of St. Marys and by ten grandchildren; Devin, Tim, Michael, Kimberly, Becki, Tracey, Cassie, Nick, Ceanne, and Jason, and by five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers; Doug (Marie) Anthony, Jan (Mary) Anthony, Robert Anthony and by one sister; Kay (Dave) Gnan, all of St. Marys, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents and his wfe, he was preceded in death by a brother; Warren Anthony, by his step-son; Ronald Titchner, and by a grandson; Dan Titchner.
A Memorial Service for Lawrence W. Anthony will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
