Daniel F. “Danny” GLASSMIRE, VI, 42, of Coudersport, PA
Daniel F. “Danny” GLASSMIRE, VI, 42, of Coudersport, PA, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. He was surrounded by his family following a hard fought battle with cancer. Born June 12, 1982, in Coudersport, he was the son of Daniel F Glassmire, V and Joy E. Hamilton Glassmire, who survive.
A 2000 graduate of Coudersport Area High School, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004 from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He was a Master Mason with the Free and Accepted Masons, Eulalia Lodge No. 342 and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was baptized and raised in the Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport.
Danny was a true “man of letters” in every sense. His words were a gift—those fortunate enough to receive a letter or message from him held a work of art, crafted with eloquence, imagination, and profound meaning. Danny poured his passion into novels, short stories, and, most of all, poetry, weaving his rich vocabulary and vivid imagination into letters and writings that were poetic, cryptic, and profoundly meaningful. An avid reader, he found joy and inspiration in literature, whether fiction, non-fiction, or poetry. Beyond his literary talents, Danny was a skilled title abstractor, landman, and excelled at various laborer and service jobs in Pittsburgh, PA.
Danny communicated kindly and lovingly with everyone he met and was immediately embraced by all. He had a sincere and genuine desire to listen to and love others. He also had a unique sense of humor and always put a smile on the faces of his many friends. He was unconcerned about himself but was exuberant and uninhibited about his concern for and love of others. He was such a source of love to others that he enjoyed a special “brotherhood” with many people and especially his Coudy friends. Although he was taken from us much too soon, his legacy and love will live on with those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Danny is survived by his sister, Dr. Andrea E. Glassmire Snook (Joshua S.) of Baton Rouge, LA; nephew, Jack R Snook; niece, Lily E Snook of Baton Rouge, LA; uncles and aunts, Craig and Joan Torrey and Doug and Sharon Hamilton; along with many cousins. He was the grandson of Daniel F Glassmire, IV and Beatrice Lignian Glassmire, and George R. Hamilton and Elizabeth Perkins Hamilton, who preceded him in death.
