Ronald L. Wenzel “loving father, and grandfather”
Ronald L. Wenzel, 79, of Coudersport, formerly of Warren, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a brief illness.
Born on Thursday, September 13, 1945 in Warren, he was a son of William H. and Alice I. Christensen Wenzel. On July 18, 1964 in Warren, he married Carol J. Wermter, who passed away on July 20, 2023.
Ron was a graduate of Warren High School in Warren, PA. He served honorably in the US Navy as a fireman.
He was a Class A Journeyman welder. During his working career, Ron was a welder in Warren at PDM Company which made the pieces for the St. Louis arch.
Ron was a member of the Black Forest Conservation Club and the Roulette Fish and Game Club. He loved to do his own reloading, hunt, fish, and also loved anything to do with the outdoors. He enjoyed his many dogs over the years that hunted with him.
Left to cherish his memory are a son, William R. (Sarah) Wenzel of Coudersport; four grandchildren, Kyle, Amber, Wyatt, and Sydney; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ron was predeceased by a daughter, Rhonda L. Wenzel; two brothers, Richard Wenzel and James Wenzel; and a sister, Donna Ponsoll.
In keeping with Ron’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Private burial services will be held in the Sweden Hill Cemetery, Coudersport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ron’s name may be made to the Black Forest Conservation Club, 189 Back Road, Coudersport, PA 16915 or to the Roulette Fish and Game Club, PO Box 23, Roulette, PA 16746.
Ron’s family entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
