Harold A. Lowe              “beloved brother, uncle, and cousin”

Harold A. Lowe, 73, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a long illness.

Born on Sunday, February 24, 1952 in Coudersport, he was a son of LaVerne A. and Vera I. Lawton Lowe. 

Harold was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Shinglehouse, Class of 1971. 

He worked numerous jobs throughout the years including working with his father at his sawmill in Millport.  While living in Ohio, Harold was employed in oil fields, again working with his father.  In his last job, he was employed in the cleaning business.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Frances A. “Frankie” (Dale) Stonemetz of Shinglehouse and Ramona J. Lowe of Tulsa, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by four sisters and a brother.

A private family gathering will be held at the convenience of his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harold’s name may be made to the Oswayo Valley Historical Society, PO Box 603, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Harold’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
