Jack L. Scott “beloved father and grandfather”
Jack L. “Scotty” Scott, 82, of Alma, formerly of Black Creek, passed away in his home with his loving family on Sunday, January 26, 2025, after a long illness.
Born on Monday, June 29, 1942 in Belvidere, NY, he was a son of Edward C. and Rose Mastin Scott.
Jack attended Belmont High School in Belmont. He held many positions throughout his life, having worked at the cast iron foundry in Friendship, had also worked in construction, and had been employed by Turbodyne in Wellsville. He retired from Cooper Industries in Olean where he was employed as an electronic tester.
Jack, also known as “sure shot Scott” loved hunting, trapping and fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Stacy K. (Dave) Shields of Alma; a son, Jason, A. (Rebecca) Scott of Belmont; four grandchildren, Madelynn Scott, Malia Scott, Austin Ritchie, and Cash Ritchie; a great-grandson, Arthur J. Ritchie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Scotty was predeceased by twelve siblings.
In honoring Scotty’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of Scotty’s life will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Scotty’s name may be made to the Cuba Rod and Gun Club, 4361 W. Keller Hill Road, Cuba, NY 14727.
Scotty’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
