Doreen M. WEISS, 63, of Ulysses, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, after a brief, but aggressive battle with cancer.  Born November 4, 1961, in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Gary L. and Amy Moe Empson.  On May 28, 1983, in Galeton, she married Kris J. Weiss, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Doreen is survived by her three daughters, Amy Jo of Ulysses, Nicholette (Levi, her favorite son) Grover of Manns Harbor, NC, Tracy Weiss of Ulysses, and god-daughter, Alexis Morse of Coudersport.  Her favorite title was Grandma to Byron (Cassidy Sawyer), Korey, Lucas, and Averi Grover, and Griffin Weiss; and Great Granny to Oliver Grover.  She is also survived by her father, Gary (Judy) Empson of Ulysses; three siblings, Nola (Dave) Kalasnik of Ulysses, Frank (Elizabeth) Empson of Sabinsville, and Donald (Nikki Erway) Empson of Ulysses; and one very spoiled black lab, Hattie.  She was predeceased by her mother, Amy.

Doreen was well known in her community for her beautiful flowerbeds, which people would frequently say were the prettiest in town.

For the past 25 years she worked as a custodian at Northern Potter Children’s School, a job that she took great pride in and loved.  She was the honorary grandma to many students throughout her years and the building will not be the same without Ms. Doreen.
