2 Penn College Teams Have a Perfect Week
Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling and women’s basketball teams both are coming off unbeaten weeks.
Wrestling
After a 21-day layoff, Penn College went 3-0 on Saturday in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Duals hosted by Pitt-Bradford. The Wildcats topped Alfred State 30-17, beat Pitt-Bradford 37-15 and downed Penn State Behrend 29-13 to improve to 4-0 in all duals.
Individually for Penn College, Carter Davis of York at 165, Nicholas Woodruff of Wyalusing at 197 and Nicholai Brotzman of Marietta at 285 finished the day with 3-0 records. Justin Adams of York at 125, Blake Dergham of Slatington at 133, TJ Martin of Honesdale at 149 and Travis Green of Manchester, Maryland, at 174 finished 2-1.

Women’s Basketball
A strong first half paved the way for Wednesday’s 61-54 UE win at Keystone College as the Wildcats improved to 4-1 in the conference. Gigi Parlante of Williamsport led the offense with a 21-point, 20-rebound effort, her ninth double-double of the season.
Hosting new UE foe Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, Penn College rode a 23-11 fourth-quarter advantage for a 62-56 victory. Rachel Teats of Middleburg led the Wildcats’ offense with 15 points and Parlante cashed in with 14 points and 12 rebounds for her 10th double-double.

Men’s Basketball
At first-time UE opponent Keystone College on Wednesday, the Wildcats lost 93-78 despite a 31-point, 20-rebound effort from Livingston Cross of Union, New Jersey, his 12th-double-double of the season. Also posting a double-double for Penn College was Gavin Barrett of Roselle, New Jersey, with 14 points and 11 assists.
At home with St. Elizabeth University in UE play on Saturday, Barrett scored 24 points and Cross had 20 points — going over 1,000 for his career — and 10 rebounds but the Wildcats fell just short in a 69-67 loss. Cross now has 1,005 points.
Trailing 38-32 at the half, Penn College used an 11-4 run to open the second half and take the lead. It led by 11 at 65-54 with 6:05 left before being outscored 15-2 down the stretch.
