Clayton A. Shobert, 95, of Ridgway, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Penn Highland Elk after a brief illness.
He was born on September 11, 1929, in Hallton, a son of the late Arthur and Majorie Wallace Shobert.
On August 24, 1963, he married the late Patricia Tramack, who preceded in death on February 23, 2011.
Clayton was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his commitment to his country and the values he upheld throughout his life. After his honorable service, he became a valued employee at Ridgway Color and Chemical. An outdoorsman at heart, Clayton enjoyed golfing and hunting, and he spent many weekends tinkering in his garage, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, relishing every game, and often shared his love for western movies. His sharp sense of humor and penchant for telling jokes brought laughter to the lives of those around him. He adored his granddaughters, cherishing every moment he spent with them and creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations. Affectionately known for his sweet tooth, Clayton relished ice cream everyday, all day.
He is survived by a daughter, Julia Yankovich and her husband Mark of Ridgway, and 2 granddaughters, Madison and Kaitlin Yankovich.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Shirley Fluman and Beverly Bearer, and a brother, Larry Shobert.
A Memorial Service for Clayton A. Shobert will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hallton Church of Christ, 14291 River Road, Sigel, PA, 15860, with Rev. Ron Burkett officiating.
Burial will follow at Donahey Hill Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Ridgway, Johnsonburg, and Wilcox Burial Detail.
