Diana R. Hadden, 73, of Ceres, NY, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend”
CERES, NY—Diana R. Hadden, 73, of Ceres, NY, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Highland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Wellsville, after a long illness.
Born on Sunday, August 19, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of Robert H. and Marcella H. Weatherbee Flechner. On April 25, 1970 in Milwaukee, she married David N. “Dave” Hadden, who passed away on March 15, 2022.
Diana was a graduate of South Division High School in Milwaukee. While living in Milwaukee, she was baptized and was a confirmed member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Ceres United Methodist Church, where she also sang in the choir.
Diana worked at the former AVX Corporation in Olean. For 20 plus years, she and her husband owned and operated the former Hadden’s Store in Ceres, NY. Even now, people still talk about the food she made there. She loved playing Bingo and going to the casino with her beloved friends.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, David Hadden of Shinglehouse, PA and Brian (Hilary) Hadden of Ceres, NY; a grandson, Dakota (Brandi) Hadden of Shinglehouse; a great-granddaughter, Brielle Hadden; a daughter-in-law, Debra Hadden of Shinglehouse, PA; a sister, Bonnie L. (Greg) Lewitzke of Milwaukee; a brother, Terry Flechner of Milwaukee; a nephew; a niece; and a grandniece.
In addition to her parents and husband, Diana was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Williams; and a brother, Robert Flechner.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Diana’s life from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Shinglehouse American Legion, Route 44S, Shinglehouse, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Diana’s name may be made to the Bolivar Fire Department, 460 Main Street, Bolivar, NY 14715.
Diana’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
