An update has been published to District 3 news on the PennDOT website. Please see below for details.
Crash Closes Interstate 80 WB in Clinton, Union and Northumberland Counties
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that both lanes of Interstate 80 westbound are closed between mile marker 212 (Interstate 180 interchange / Williamsport) in Northumberland County and mile marker 178 (Route 220 interchange) in Clinton County, due to a multi-vehicle crash in Clinton County near mile marker 190.
A detour using Interstate 180 and Route 220 is in place. The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours. Motorists should expect delays in travel.
Motorists should prepare for potential wintry weather by ensuring they have supplies in their cars before heading out: food, water, blankets, extra gloves and hats, cell phone charger, hand or foot warmers, windshield brush and scraper, and any specialized items like medications or baby and pet supplies.

Montoursville, PA – Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on several roadways in the region.
PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:
· Interstates 80 between Exit 97 (Dubois / Brockway / Route 219) in Clearfield County and Exit 212 (Interstate 180 / Williamsport) in Northumberland County
On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles not affected by restrictions on these or other roadways must move to the right lane.
Although PennDOT crews have been treating roadways, the department’s primary goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow. PennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.
