Elizabeth A. “Betty” Meacham, 94, formerly of Ford Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Penn Highlands Elk with her family by her side.
She was born on January 15, 1930 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late David and Isabelle Krieg Caskey.
Elizabeth married James F. Schatz, who preceded her in death in 1975. In 1978, she married Ronald Meacham, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Betty was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, class of 1948. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church. She retired from Keystone after many years in the shipping department. Betty loved spending time outdoors and being in the woods. She especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. One of her favorite pastimes was volunteering at Pinecrest and making rosaries for the residents. She never turned down a trip to the casino and always enjoyed playing cards. Most of all, she valued her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children; Linda Meyer, James (Mary Ann) Schatz, Terrence (Chris) Schatz, Christine (Doug) Guido, all of St. Marys; by her 9 beloved grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister; Kathy (Jerry) Meyer of St. Marys, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by numerous siblings, a granddaughter; Robin Meyer, two great-granddaughters; Marlena Lenze and Madelyn Michuck, and by her son-in-law; Carl “Midge” Meyer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth A. “Betty” Meacham will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.
Family and friends will be received at the Queen of the World Church on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 11:15 AM until the time of Mass.
