Galeton Weather Report for October 2024
October 2024 in the Galeton area was a dry and a beautiful Fall month. It was a historically dry month for much of the country, especially in the mid Atlantic region. Philadelphia and other places in southeast Pennsylvania had no measurable rainfall for the month. Morning readings were in the 40’s and 20s with frosts on 11 mornings, It did warm up nicely in the afternoons with readings in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
The Fall foliage was not as colorful this year however the oaks, a few hard maples and beech trees did finally look colorful.
This year we received 1.50″ of rainfall and last year the reading was 2.05″. We heard thunder for 2 days and we had 10 foggy mornings.
November is about to arrive. It will get cooler and perhaps we will see our first measurable snowfall. We usually do. Then of course we can put away the mowers and get the plows and shovels out. I am putting the snow measuring board out for the winter months. Happy Thanksgiving.
