Donald “Dude” METCALF, 55, of Westfield, PA, died Saturday, November 30, 2024 at his home.
Born January 14, 1969, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Wayne R. “Tiny” and Connie L. Schoonover Metcalf. On July 4, 1989, in Westfield, he married Mistie L. Proctor, who survives. A 1987 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he was employed as a truck driver for 11 years and was last employed by PennDOT as a heavy equipment operator. An outdoorsman, Dude enjoyed hunting, archery, fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Peter G. Frederick, 71, of 1434 Summit Road, Rew, passed away Saturday November 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born April 18, 1953, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Leonard Frederick and Eva Mae (Platko) Burns.
Pete was a 1971 graduate of Bradford Area High School. After graduation he would go on to work for Coca Cola in Bradford. He owned and operated Pete’s T&A for many years. Over the years he also worked at Case Cutlery, Miles Bradford, Snap-On, Universal Well Services. His last 15 years he owned and operated HandyMan Services in the Bradford and surrounding area.
Pete was a proud member of the NRA, a blood donor, and Vice President of the Rew Water Association. He also loved racing stock cars, attending racetracks, hunting, and spending time with his children.
Leigh Hart, 75, of 14 Poplin Avenue, Bradford, passed away comfortably, Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by her family, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born April 19, 1949, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Stanley A. Spetz and Lula (Haight) Hensley. She was a graduate of Jamestown School for Girls.
On April 30, 1969, in Bradford, she married Victor Hart who preceded her in death on March 9, 2013.
Leigh had been employed over 40 years at KOA Speer Electronics.
Walter R. Lane, age 89, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born on May 12, 1935 in Oaklyn, NJ, a son of the late Wells and Jenny (Chapman) Lane and was married for 55 years to the late Verna S. (Hollenbach) Lane who passed away in 2017.
He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the US Marine Corps. Walter was retired from Dresser Industries, Wellsboro, PA and was an avid hunter, gardener, and a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan as well as a Penn State Football fan.
He is survived by a son: Michael (Lori) Lane of Wellsboro, PA, and three grandchildren: Steve Lane, Katie Lane and Sean Lane.
He was predeceased by a son: Robert Lane in 2007.

Richard Armstrong McWilliams, 85, a resident of the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA., and formerly of Warren, PA., died Sunday evening, December 1, 2024, after an extended illness. Richard was born November 22, 1939, in Warren, PA. He was the son of Robert and Addie Armstrong McWilliams. He was a lifelong Warren area resident. Richard was employed as a policeman with Mead Township Police Department, retiring a Chief. He loved to restore antiques, and work on older objects.
He was a member of First Methodist Church, and Pennsylvania Police Association.
Richard has no known survivors.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Oakland Cemetery, Warren, PA., with Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht, Pastor, officiating. Corinne K. Wilson, 72, a resident of Chapel Ridge for 15 years, passed away, Saturday, November 30, 2024, at her residence.
Born September 9, 1952, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Dick Dwight and Beverly Jean (Mesler) Wilson. She was a 1970 graduate of Bradford High School.
She loved her family and her Chapel Ridge family.
Surviving are two daughters, Nicole St. Louis, of New York, and Natalie O’Brien, of New Jersey, two sisters, Carol (William) Huber, of Bradford, and Connie (the late Walter) Farrell, of Tyrone, six nieces and nephews, Michele (Bob) Chapman, Shawn (Stephanie) Huber, Rob (Lori) Huber, Andrea (Jeff) Gallup, Stephanie Farrell, and Melissa (James) Schneider, 10 grandnieces and grandnephews, Olivia Stafford-Chapman, Amelia Chapman Palmer, Seth Huber, Alexis Huber, Kate Huber, Mia Huber, Grace Gallup, George Gallop, Jacob Schneider, and Jonathon Schneider.
Family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Chapel in the Bradford Ecumenical Home, at 11:00 am funeral services will be held with Rev. Edward Walk, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Chapel Ridge, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) today announced more than $430,000 in state funding to support school safety and mental health in Tioga County.
“For our students to succeed in school, they must feel safe and supported,” Owlett said. “These grants are an important tool in helping achieve that goal, and I am pleased to see this funding coming to our area schools.”
The county’s three school districts received the following School Safety and Mental Health Grants to address both physical security and behavioral health needs:
Northern Tioga School District – $137,012.
Southern Tioga School District – $132,542.
Wellsboro Area School District – $126,580.
Additionally, New Covenant Academy was awarded a $38,000 grant through the Targeted School Safety Grants for Nonpublic Schools program. This funding is to support programs address school violence and improving school safety and security.
The grants were awarded through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and its School Safety and Security Committee.

Millions of people will go to worship at churches all over America this Sunday but there will be a glaring absence of a large group of people: the handicapped and those with physical disabilities.
A survey in The Journal of Disability and Religion revealed only 10 percent of U.S. churches offered any tangible support to disabled people.
In the story above we see a few of Jesus’ followers who were so dedicated to making sure that all of their friends could get to Jesus that they climbed up on the roof of the house they were meeting in and tore off the roof to make a way for their paralyzed friend to get to Jesus. What they did took courage and physical effort. They didn’t own the property, they could have been fined or punished for what they did, damaging the roof and interrupting the teaching.

Marily Woodford-McMahon was convicted at a jury trial in 2023 of Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number (Felony 2); 3 Counts of Receiving Stolen Property (firearms) (Felony 2); 3 counts of Receiving Stolen Property (crossbows) (Misdemeanor 1); 2 counts of Possessing an Offensive Weapon (2 sawed-off shotguns) (Misdemeanor 1); and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor).
She was sentenced to incarceration of 39 months to 108 months and additional terms in a state correctional facility.
WOODFORD-MCMAHON appealed her case to the Superior Court asserting there was insufficient evidence to convict her of the charges.
By Opinion dated November 14th, the Superior Court affirmed her conviction. In affirming the conviction, the Court noted that the evidence proved beyond a reasonable doubt that she committed the crimes for which she was convicted citing, in part, the location of the firearms – in her bedroom, under her bed, and in her closet and among her personal possessions including her clothes and marijuana she claimed was hers; her “implausible and shifting” statements to police first disclaiming any knowledge of the weapons at all and then admitting she touched one of them; and the close proximity between the date some of the items were stolen and the date State Police searched WOODFROD-MCMAHON’S residence and found them.

Family and friends may attend a memorial visitation for Barbara F. Heimel, 101, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 402 N. Main Street, Coudersport, where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm with her pastors, the Rev. Warren Cederholm Jr. and Donald Caskey, officiating.

Fresh off a week during which he was honored as the UE Offensive Player of the Week, senior Livingston Cross of Union, New Jersey, turned in another dominate performance on Tuesday with 18 points and 21 rebounds in a 73-55 home win that was the Wildcats’ first ever in three encounters against Penn State Brandywine.
Trailing by two at halftime, Penn College outscored Brandywine 42-22 in the second half. For the game, the Wildcats outscored their opponents 42-14 in points in the paint. The double-double was Cross’ fifth in a row and his sixth in seven games. His 21 boards were a career best, with 15 coming on the defensive end. Earlier this season, Cross was named the UE Defensive Player of the Week.

Wayne J. Converse, 68, of Wellsboro, passed away Wednesday November 27, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport. He was born July 26, 1956, in Wellsville, NY, the son of the late Vernie House and Louise Onalee (Whitaker) Converse. He married the former Patricia Marie Stidfole on February 15, 1988 and celebrated 44 years of marriage until her passing in 2022.
Wayne was a truck driver for over 30 years and a veteran of the Army. He enjoyed fishing, model cars, and watching NASCAR.
