Description: You don’t even have to leave your campsite for this program! The park educator will be walking around the campground talking about camp safety, answering park questions, and handing out program flyers to all the campers!
Michael R. Yount, 73, of Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA on Saturday morning (April 6, 2024) following a lengthy illness. He was born January 17, 1951 in Rayburn Township, Kittaning, PA a son of the late George Carl and Hattie Corman Yount.
Michael graduated from Kittaning High School. He was a member of the Driftwood-Emporium Masonic Lodge, 532, F.& A.M. where he served as past master and was a member of the Coudersport Consistory-Scottish Rite and a member of the Shriners International. He was an avid life long Penn State fan.

Tired of fishing already? Take a break at the Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor and Craft Show on Saturday, April 13 from 9AM to 3PM at the Kettle Creek Hose Company in Cross Fork. A variety of local craft and outdoor related vendors and non -profits will be represented.
There will be several vendors with trailers outside including God’s Country Kettle Corn and SOD Family Maple selling kettle corn, maple lemonade, milkshakes and maple products. Precision Fly and Tackle Shop will have a trailer featuring fly fishing supplies. They will be available for casting demonstrations and answering questions regarding fly fishing. The Bureau of Forestry will have an information trailer to give out information about all the recreational activities available on State Forest lands. Quiet Oaks Campground is a rental agent for Polaris Razor ATV’s and they will be displaying some of the ATV’s they have available for rental.
A series of 30-minute talks will begin at 10:00am with Matt Schenck, Environmental Education Specialist for Sinnemahoning State Park.

Penn College won the first of a three-game UE series at Penn State Berks on Friday, 3-2, as Dallas Griess of Williamsport reached on a one-out single in the top of the 11th inning and scored on a Berks error after Jaiden Augustine of Dillsburg doubled down the right-field line. Griess finished with three hits and two runs scored. Dennis Prestash of Sandy Ridge got the win with two shutout innings in relief.
In Saturday’s doubleheader that wrapped up the weekend, the Wildcats completed a sweep by scores of 8-0 and 11-5 to even their United East Conference and overall records while upping their win streak to five.
Vollman Giffin of Williamsport allowed three hits over seven innings in the first-game shutout. Quinn Hanafin of Sayre went 3 for 3 with two runs batted in and Adam Aldenderfer of Trout Run had two hits and plated three runs.
Griess’ three-run home run highlighted a five-run fourth inning in the second-game win. Also for Penn College, Jaydon Goebel of Honey Brook went 3 for 4 with three runs scored, John Croasdale of Milford, New Jersey, had two hits and plated three runs and Augustine went 4 for 4 as relief pitcher Ethan Eckard of Cogan Station picked up the win.

Robert S. Lathrop (Bob), of Wilmington, Delaware returned to his Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Bob was born on April 6, 1938 in Addison, NY. He grew up in Smethport, PA and graduated from Smethport High School in 1957. He proudly served in the United States Army from June 1960 until May 1963.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Bob continued his education at Lock Haven State College, graduating in 1966, and further earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois in 1970.
Bob married his loving wife, Darlene Hess, on September 3,1960, and they moved to Delaware in 1966 where he taught physical education and drivers education at Brandywine High School until his retirement in 2000.
Bob loved the great outdoors and was an avid gardener, fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed sharing his garden harvest with family and friends every year and teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish and hunt. Bob was a good friend and neighbor, as well as a gifted storyteller.
Potter County Special Olympics needs the community’s help.
We are in need of some help coaching softball. We are looking for either one or two male coaches that can help coach softball.

M. Kathleen “Kathy” Leman, 80, of Austin, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at UPMC-Cole Skilled Nursing., Coudersport. Kathy was born on October 28, 1943, in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Nagy) Corrigan. She married Joseph Leman on July 4, 1964, who survives.
Kathy, along with her husband, was an avid Cleveland Browns and Guardians fan.
