Michael A. Rich, 33, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Michael is survived by his mother, Wendy Rich, Friendship; two sisters, Ashley (Cory Lynch) Rich, Wellsville; Tonya (Mason) Hadsell, Friendship; a paternal grandmother, Linda O’Brien, Olean; two nephews, David Lynch, Wellsville; Cameron Hadsell, Cuba; and several aunts and uncles.

There will be no prior visitation or public services. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joan C. Smith, age 83, of Little Marsh, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Green Home in Wellsboro. 

Born January 13, 1940 in West New York, NJ, she was the only child of the late Thurston and Jennie (Hankins) Duncan.  Joan married Allen B. Smith, Jr. and they shared 55 years together until his passing in 2018. 

She loved to spend time with her granddaughters. 

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Page of Little Marsh and two granddaughters, Jennifer Page of Los Angeles, CA and Jessica Page of Hardwick, NJ. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen. 

Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Friday, February 3rd from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held immediately following in Wormer Hill Cemetery with Rev. Larry O’Dell officiating.

Terril (Terri) Anne Doan Marks, age 75, of Nelson, PA passed peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Carleton Nursing Home in Wellsboro.

Her best friend and a former personal care aide were at her side. Terri, daughter and only child of Loren Doan and Alice (Close) Doan, was born on June 29, 1947 in Wellsboro, PA.

Terri worked as a Counselor at Endless Mountains D&A Rehabilitation in Blossburg, PA for many years. She ventured into the Media business that she enjoyed very much as an advertising sales representative for a few local television & radio stations in the area. Her most recent employment was with the Tioga Publishing Company in Wellsboro, PA.

Terri was well known through her personal life, places of employment and travels. Her personality and gift of being able to communicate with most anyone earned her love, trust and respect from whomever she was in contact with. Terri’s passions included riding her beloved horse, Baby, attending and competing in horse shows, watching car races at Watkins Glen, traveling, flower gardening, feeding & identifying birds and helping animals in need of rescue.

Oh yes, and she surely loved the taste of a fine cooked meal followed later with a dish of ice cream. Terri will be lovingly remembered through our memories of the relationship she shared with each of us.

A special “Thank You” to her caregivers who were so dedicated in providing her the care needed throughout the years at home and at the Carleton.

Terri is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Enderle (Mark) Rado of Monroe, OH, her stepchildren Steven Marks of Farmington, NJ, Dianne Marks of Farmington, NJ, and Isabelle (Kenneth) Mosca) of Ventnor, NJ., her grandchildren, Isabelle & Kyle Mosca of Ventnor, NJ. and Aunts & Uncles Esther (Doan) & Waldo Wood of Knoxville, PA, Barbara (Doan) & Gerome Learn of Cameron Mills, NY and, Mary Jane (Doan)McGlaughlin of Painted Post, NY plus several cousins on the Doan side of her family.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, LaQuay Marks; Parents, Loren & Alice Doan; Grandparents, Henry, Doris & Gertrude Doan, Emma Close; Great Grandparents, Bert & Goldie Rowley; Aunt, Mary Ann (Close)Timm and Uncles, Frank Timm, Rex McGlaughlin and Dean Doan.

Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main Street, Elkland, PA on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 2:00PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be also held at the Nelson Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside LaQuay.

Carolyn Ann Rhodes of Little Genesee, NY passed away on Saturday January 28, 2023 after a long battle with addiction.

Carolyn was born on August 24, 1982 in Wellsville. She was the daughter of Dean and Diane Cowell Rhodes Sr.

Carolyn received her GED from the Belmont Central School. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and granddaughter.

Carolyn is survived and missed by the father of her three children Drew Blauvelt, three daughters Hannah, Jennah & Savannah; her mother and stepfather Diane (Doc) Morrison, Little Genesee; her father and stepmother Dean (Joyce) Rhodes Sr., Portville. Also surviving are siblings Dean (Angela) Rhodes, Allentown, John (Melissa) Dunn, Chaffee NY, Angelia M. Natik Rhodes, Salamanca, Josh (Jessica) Rhodes, Allegany, Derrick (Ashley) Morrison, Shinglehouse PA and Dustin Morrison, Bolivar; several aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Erica Fegadel in 2016.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar, on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 11A.M.-12:30P.M. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:30P.M. Pastor Al Batt will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.

Barbara Jean Hallock, 77, of Warren, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2023.  She was born June 12, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio.  Barbara was the daughter of Rev. Robert and Paula Newman Hutchings.

She was a 1963 graduate of Greenville High School, Greenville, PA., and a 1967 graduate of Edinboro University.  She was an elementary school teacher and resigned to concentrate on motherhood.  Later, she had various positions in retail. Barb was a Christian by faith and a member of the local moose and eagle’s clubs. She was cherished as a wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law.  She’ll be greatly missed.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Terry D. Hallock, whom she married June 10, 1972, a daughter, Stacey Rosleck (Chris) of Scott Township, suburb of Pittsburgh, PA., 2 sons – Scott Hallock (Beth) of McKean, PA., Daniel Hallock of Erie, PA., a brother – Richard Hutchings (Kathleen) of Garland, TX., brother-in-law, Donald Hallock (Deborah) of Chambersburg, PA., 2 nephews, 3 nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother – Robert Hutchings.

Virginia Puvel, born September 14, 1942 passed away Saturday, Jan 28, 2023. She is from Bradford, PA. She was 80 years old.

Carol J. (Siecker) Morton, 83, of 686 Shelvey Summit Road, Kersey, PA and formerly of Eatonville, WA, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness. 

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.

Terry L. Carlson Sr., 65, of Hacker St. in Kane, PA passed away Sunday morning (Jan. 29) at his residence.  

He was born on Aug. 13, 1957 in Kane, the son of the late Guy and Mary (Walker) Carlson.  On March 25, 1980, he married Carol Milford, who survives.

Terry served in the US Navy and at various times had been employed by Highlander Mineral, St. Marys Lumber Company, ITL, Eastern Sintered Metals, Kane Screen and Amguard Security.  He enjoyed working on small gas engines and loved his dog Molly.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Terry Carlson Jr. and Ron Carlson, both of Kane; four brothers, Chuck (Ellen) Carlson of St. Marys, David (Lynette) Carlson of Kane, Adam Carlson of Spokane, WA and Craig (Tammy) Carlson of Bradford; two sisters, Kathy Stanley of Canfield, OH and Susan (Brian) Silvis of Sheffield; two grandsons, Dakota Victory and Andrew Carlson; two granddaughter Liberty Carlson and Vicki Baumgratz and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dan Carlson; two nieces, Kristen Nelson and Brittany Carlson; two brothers-in-law, Charles Walton and Mark Stanley and one sister-in-law, Delores A. Carlson.

Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday (Feb. 1) from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home.  A funeral service will take place on Thursday (Feb. 2) at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Pflieger officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the family to help offset burial expenses.

Eola “Pat” Benninger, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, while currently residing at Field of Dreams in Allegany, NY. 

Pat was born August 23, 1930, in Pigeon, to parents William Frost & Florence (Sayers) Frost-Ishman and graduated from the Bradford Area High School. 

Over the years she was best known for her love of gardening, antiques and flea markets. 

She is survived by her daughter Carla (Jan) Nulph-Brantner of New Bern, NC; grandsons Timothy Brantner of New Bern, NC and Brandon Brantner of Kettering, OH; and granddaughter Emily Molitor of Xenia, OH. 

She was predeceased by her parents, brother Jim Frost, husband Carl Nulph; and husband William Benninger. 

A special thanks is extended to her beloved niece, Dianne Austin of Bradford, who has been such a help over the last couple years.

Private burial will be in Frost Cemetery, Pigeon.

Charlotte Lee Sikula, passed away at the age of 70, on Friday, January 27, 2023 peacefully at home after a long battle with liver failure. Her husband Michael, Sister Judy, and brother-in-law John were at her side at the time of her passing.

Charlotte was born in Olean, New York on March 27, 1952. She was the daughter of Howard and Greta (Ault) Yeaples. She was a graduate of Otto-Eldred Jr-Sr High School, Duke Center, PA. During high school years she was a cheerleader, Blazer member, vice-president of her class, member of the Senior Chorus, and participated in Junior and Senior Plays. BTW-She was also voted “Best Looking”.

Charlotte joined the Navy right out of high school. She was in the Navy 3 years where she pursued a nursing career. In the Navy she was HM3 Secretary to Head Naval Regional Medical Center, Secretary to Chief of Division, and Naval Regional Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA. She was also Head Corpswave, Dependent female ward and worked special duty on maternity ward, Quonset Point, Rhode Island. She was honorably discharged in 1973.

After the Navy, she obtained a BS from the University of Central Florida. She was in the 1st graduating class in Nursing from the University of Central Florida.

In her 30-year nursing career she worked in various disciplines; operating room nurse, relief charge nurse, general surgery ranging from urology, ENT, thoracic, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, cardiovascular and laser nurse for laser surgery. She was also the Nursing Manager of a freestanding outpatient surgery center.

Charlotte met her husband, Michael, through a Classified Personal Ad that she ran in the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. Their first date was at Chi-Chi’s Mexican Restaurant, where she had given him the wrong directions on how to get there (Grrr).

They were married 36 years. They have one son Michael Gerald Sikula and one grandson Lucas Jeremiah Sikula.

Charlotte’s favorite things to do was travel around the country visiting family, attending family reunions, and seeing famous sites like Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, etc. She enjoyed watching cooking shows and soap operas…her favorite being “The Young and The Restless”.

She was preceded death by her parents, Howard Fred Yeaples and Greta (Ault) Yeaples, her sister Ellen (Yeaples) Young, brother Howard Fred Yeaples, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Philip Thomas Young and Gary William Silsby, niece Olivia Lee Douglas, and other extended family members.

She leaves behind the following family: husband-Michael Joseph Sikula, son-Michael Gerald Sikula, grandson- Lucas Jeremiah Sikula, sisters-Patti (Yeaples) Silsby, Judy (Yeaples) Mix, Greta (Yeaples) Edminster, brothers-in-law, Jeff Edminster, John Mix, sister-in-law Anita (Varga) Yeaples, and many nieces, nephews, and family members.

There will not be a funeral service held. Charlotte will be cremated. A memorial will follow at the Sikula residence in Sorrento, Florida at a later date.
