William Emory Dake, age 71, of Osceola, PA
William Emory Dake, age 71, of Osceola, PA passed away on June 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born January 5, 1952 in Port Allegany, PA, he was a son to the late Albert B. and Alice A. (Mattison) Dake.
Bill was proud he came from a rather large family, having 10 siblings and two loving parents. William lived in Osceola with his loving spouse, Anna Owings, for 37 years up until his passing.
Bill enjoyed his work and was very proud of it – he was a woodcutter at his brother’s company, Dake’s Logging, for several years and afterwards he worked for Asplundh Tree Company until he retired.
He enjoyed playing solitaire, watching old western shows, fishing and collecting things such as coins and knives. Bill was known for his metal work, he would be the man you’d go to for anything that needed welded. It was said that nothing would break once William had welded it. He also was a tinkerer, any chance he got he would be taking things apart and putting them back together.
Bill also enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dogs; Sport, CoJoe, Shilo and Benjy.
William is survived by his loving wife, Anna Owings; children, Mathew (Mitsy) and Timothy (Robin) Dake; grandchildren, Cherish, Diana and Joseph Dake; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sue Surine, Jim and Harry Dake; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; his beloved son, Jason Dake who passed on March 28, 2019; and his siblings, Betty, Charlie, Herb, Arlene, June Dake, Donna McFall, and Sandy Davis.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Osceola Fire Department, 7654 State Rte 49, Osceola, PA 16942.
