WELLSBORO COMMUNITY CONCERT ASSOCIATION’S 76th SEASON CONTINUES NEXT SATURDAY, OCT. 19 WITH BLACK TIE GROOVE PERFORMING MOTOWN, SOUL, FUNK AND MORE
Next Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro, the 76th season of the Wellsboro Community Concert Association will continue with a concert by Black Tie Groove singing and playing Motown, Soul, Funk and more.
This New Jersey-based, top rated band is known for giving high-energy performances with a genre-crossing repertoire that spans the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The seven talented musicians include lead vocalists Erin Kukla and Eric Delaney; Tony Chibaro on drums; Joe Gorgolione on bass guitar; Keith Kukla on lead guitar; Joe Andreacchi on keyboards; and Ricky Paetzell on saxophone.
Travel back in time for a blast from the past that will get you singing along and your feet moving. This is the second concert of WCCA’s six-concert season.
Among the songs Black Tie Groove will perform from the 1960s and 1970s are: “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” originally sung by the Temptations; “Lady Marmalade” sung by Patti LaBelle and her group Labelle; “Respect” by Aretha Franklin and “Oh What a Night” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli.
The other four Saturday night 7:30 p.m. concerts being presented in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre during the Wellsboro Community Concert Association’s 2024-2025 season are: Nov. 16, The Gibson Brothers, Bluegrass at its Finest; Feb. 15, 2025, House of Hamill, Upcycled Celtic Folk and Vintage Vibes; March 15, 2025, Dàimh, award winning ‘Gaelic Super Group”; and April 5, 2025, The EG Kight Trio with EG Kight’s blend of “country flavored southern fried Blues.”
A Season Subscription for adults 19 and older for the five remaining WCCA concerts is $75 or $15 per concert, a 50 percent savings over the individual ticket price of $30.
A student subscription for the concert series for ages 13 to 18 is $25 ($5 per concert).
Youngsters ages 12 and under are admitted free to the concert series when accompanied by a paying adult. Please reserve a seat for any child attending for free.
Non-subscribers can purchase individual concert tickets for $30.
Credit card purchases for all WCCA shows can only be made online at wellsborocca.org. WCCA tickets can be purchased by cash or check (no credit cards) at the Deane Center office between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
