Wellsboro Comic Con Returns as a Free Event
Wellsboro, PA. The third annual Wellsboro Comic Con will take place Saturday, August 10th, and is now free and open to the public throughout all venues, including The Deane Center for the Performing Arts, The Warehouse Theatre, The Deane Center Lawn, and Central Avenue in downtown Wellsboro, PA.
This year’s event will feature over 100 artists and vendors, panels and presentations, a cosplay contest, crafts and family activities, photo ops, and more. Featured guests this year include Stephanie Williams (Wakanda #1, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, My Little Pony), Adam Gorham (Godzilla, Darth Vader, Archie, Rocket, New Mutants), Arielle Jovellanos (Monster High, Captain Marvel, Girl Taking Over: A Lois Lane Story, Adventure Time), and Alexis Frederick-Frost (Adventures in Cartooning, Maker Comics, Team Unihorn and Woolly), among others.
Prior to the convention, on Friday, August 9th, Pop’s Culture Shoppe is sponsoring a workshop at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center with popular Webtoon creator “66 Shark Teeth” (whose Webtoon, “City of Blank,” has over 49.5 million views and 729,000 subscribers) on the subject of “Asset Creation for Webtoons – How to Optimize your Workflow.” Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding web comic creation, and will receive a limited-edition poster signed by the artist.
