Wellsboro, PA. August 9, 2025: The Wellsboro Comic Con returns! This celebration of the arts is once again a FREE town festival from 10am to 6pm. Activities can be found at The Deane Center for the Performing Arts, The Warehouse Theatre, Central Avenue, and at businesses throughout town.

It’s not just comics Batman! In addition to over 30 talented writers, artists, colorists, editors, and toy designers you can also catch stand-up comedy from an AGT featured comedian, get a photo wearing a hat from a Kentucky Derby hatmaker, meet a Disney storyboard artist and see her sketchbooks, join in lots of kid friendly activities and crafts, ask questions at the panel discussions, play games (and maybe win one), sketch at a learn-to-draw station, search the area as part of the scavenger hunt, or do a sidewalk chalk drawing. You can even drop off comics and cards for CGC grading submissions or pick up exclusive Archie comics variant cover comics and get them signed!

Want some inspiration? The amazing group of talented creators participating this year includes Eisner Award winning Joe Staton. With over 800 art credits, he designed the Guy Gardner you just saw in the Superman movie. Also Bart Sears, Amy Chu, Stephanie Williams, Cory Smith, Ethan Young, Len Nicholas, Doogie Horner, Glenn Whitmore, Chris Ring, Chris Bell and many more are available for autographs, books, and sketches!

Yes there will be Cosplay! The Contest is at 4:30pm on the Deane Center Lawn. Join the fun and maybe win a prize or just have fun people watching all day!

Throughout the weekend, local theatre company Hamilton-Gibson productions is also presenting the play “The Hobbit- by Patricia Gray” and directed by Cody Losinger- visit www.hamiltongibson.org for showtimes and ticket information. Locally, you can even end the day at the Tioga county fair, and then watch the Perseid meteor shower at the Cherry Springs dark sky park. There’s something for everyone!
