Wednesday Power Failure Affects Solomon’s Words Postings
On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon with temperatures in the 80’s, electrical power was lost to 63 West Penn Power customers along Main Street in Roulette.
Calls to West Penn indicated it was a transformer problem in State College and that a crew was on scene working on it so it shouldn’t be off for long. Next indication was that it was awaiting investigation and restoration was estimated AT 6:30 pm.
Two of us are dependent on home oxygen here.
And of course, our emergency power generator would not start when we needed it.
Fortunately, our son and son in law came to our rescue. They hooked an extension cord to the inverter in our van and were able to get the oxygen generator to produce a limited amount of oxygen so we could breath.
Wi-Fi, internet, and darn near everything else was not available. Cell phones were spotty on 4G, only giving partial service. Our son in law brought us his generator before it got dark.
After getting a final email from West Penn that the outage was extended to 10:30 PM, the power finally came back on at 8:30 PM as West Penn Crews finally arrived in Roulette to manually reset the circuit.
As a result, our news posting today is running behind and we’re trying to catch up.
