Walter L. Green, 74, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the Olean General Hospital.
Born on July 25, 1950, in St. Marys, he was a son of the late Guy Kenneth and Margaret Ann (Hackett) Green. He attended school in St. Marys.
On March 19, 1970, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on November 7, 1971. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and the Metirouis Citation Medal.
Wally began working at Keystone Powdered Metal during high school, after the service he returned to Keystone Powdered Metal in St Marys. In 1998 he moved with the company to Bradford and began working at the facility in Lewis Run, he has been employed for 55 years.
Wally enjoyed going fishing, camping, thrift store shopping and spoiling his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife Robin, who he has been with for 26 years, one daughter, Kristin (Chris) Brady, of Bradford, one son, Joel (Christi) Legawiec, of Dayton, OH, and four grandchildren, Genevieve Legawiec, Cael Legawiec, Kyla Brady, and Sara Brady, and two “adopted grandchildren” Kayla and Annabel Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Leroy Brady.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue, where at 6:00 pm, funeral services will be held with Rev. Terri Niver, Pastor, First Wesleyan Church, officiating. Military Honors’ will be accorded at the funeral home with the United States Army and Bradford Legion Post 108 honor guards.
