Virginia Joan Kellogg, 81 of Pocomoke City, Maryland
With great sadness, Virginia Joan Kellogg (aka Peanut, Mom, Nana), 81, of Pocomoke City, Maryland passed away on December 25, 2023 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland after a short illness.
She was born in Coudersport, PA in 1942 and is the daughter of the late Myron and Mary Lloyd. Virginia graduated from Coudersport High School in 1960 where she was a majorette (“GO FALCONS”) and involved in many club activities. She loved the Eastern Shore but longed to be home in Pennsylvania.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Myron and Mary Lloyd; siblings, Frederick Lloyd, Robert Lloyd and Evelyn Fryer; the love of her life, her husband, Richard C. Kellogg; daughter, Laura Kay Kellogg; grandchildren, Christopher McCready and Nikolaus Kellogg; and great grand child, Riley Lankford.
Virginia is survived by her children, Nadine (Jack) McCready of Newark, MD, Dana C. Kellogg of Pocomoke City, MD and DeAnna (Wayne) Hudson of Westover, MD; grandchildren, Brandon (Holly) Lankford, Erin (Dale) Kellogg, R. Kyle (Allison) Lankford, Jackie (Eric) McCready and John D. Hudson; Great grandchildren, Brianna and Corey Newnam, Brilynn Lankford, Jacob Lankford, Brooklynn and Kaleb McCready, Cali Baldwin, Payten McCabe and Justin McCabe Jr.; her brothers- and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a hard worker and very strong and determined woman. She never missed an opportunity to learn and broaden her horizons.
She had various points of employment: Pure Carbon Co (PA), Meat wrapper, meat cutter and management at Safeway, Food City and Food Lion. She also was a manufacturing specialist operator for Moore Business Forms and Dresser Wayne Industries, and retired from Standard Register. She had the opportunity to show her skills and train others in her craft.
Virginia loved a good challenge and was determined to excel in whatever she put her heart and mind to.
Virginia loved to ride her motorcycle, crafting and spending time with her family.
Quilting was one of of her favorite of many passions and hobbies. She dabbled in woodworking, crocheting, knitting, weaving and home repair. Yep, you get it, she has tried it all.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her family in Pennsylvania.
