UPMC Welcomes Neurosurgeon to Williamsport
Williamsport, Pa., October 2, 2024 – UPMC welcomes Nancy Abu-Bonsrah, M.D., M.P.H, to the neurosurgery team in Williamsport.
Dr. Abu-Bonsrah completed her medical degree, a master’s degree in public health, and her residency in neurosurgery with Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. She was the first African American female resident in the history of the hospital’s neurosurgery program.
“Neurosurgical care shouldn’t be limited by geography,” said Dr. Abu-Bonsrah. “Everyone deserves access to the highest quality care, no matter where they live. My mission is to bring advanced, compassionate neurosurgical services to Williamsport and the surrounding communities, ensuring patients receive the specialized care they need, close to home.”
