Wellsboro, Pa., September 12, 2023 – UPMC welcomes Jennifer Easton, enrollment navigator, to the north central Pennsylvania region. Jennifer will serve as a community outreach and education specialist for UPMC Cole, UPMC Wellsboro, and the surrounding communities. 

“After ten years of working at UPMC Cole in a different position, I’m very excited to grow with the organization and help support the expansion of this critical service in the communities we serve,” said Jennifer Easton, enrollment navigator, UPMC in North Central Pa. “This role allows me to connect with people, build relationships, and provide services that make a difference in supporting health equity and growing healthier communities.” 

As an enrollment navigator, Jennifer helps uninsured children and adults gain access to subsidized, low-cost, and free health insurance programs through the Health Insurance Marketplace (Pennie Exchange), Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Jennifer offers independent and unbiased enrollment assistance in completing coverage applications, gathering required documentation, and troubleshooting the enrollment process. 

Additionally, Jennifer will play a vital role in helping UPMC address social determinants of health during the enrollment assistance process by connecting the consumer to community resources like cultural mediation, food insecurity, language assistance, transportation, housing, legal needs, and more.
