UPMC Cole, UPMC Wellsboro Interim-President Announces Retirement


WELLSBORO/COUDERSPORT, Pa., Sept. 17, 2025 — After a distinguished 40-year career in medicine, Dan Glunk, MD, interim president, UPMC Cole and UPMC Wellsboro, and chief quality officer, UPMC North Central Pa., has announced his retirement, effective December 31.
“Dr. Glunk’s leadership over the years has positively impacted the lives of many,” said Patti Jackson-Gehris, market president, UPMC North Central Pa. “His work has influenced policy, elevated standards of care, and inspired numerous clinicians and leaders across the Commonwealth. Dr. Glunk has been a trusted voice and a steady hand, guiding our teams through complex challenges with compassion, clarity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His leadership at UPMC Cole and UPMC Wellsboro has strengthened our culture of collaboration and advanced our mission to deliver high-quality, accessible care to the communities we serve. We are deeply grateful for his decades of service and wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement.”
Effective Wednesday, Oct. 1, Ron Reynolds, FACHE, president, UPMC Muncy, will become the new president for UPMC Cole and UPMC Wellsboro.

His experience, values, and commitment to our mission will ensure continued excellence at UPMC Cole and UPMC Wellsboro,” said Jackson-Gehris.
Reynolds, with more than 30 years of experience in health care, is very familiar with leading through the challenges of providing quality health care services in rural communities. He has held a range of key leadership roles since joining the organization (then Susquehanna Health) in 2005. His past roles include regional vice president, Operations; president, Divine Providence Hospital, UPMC Muncy, and UPMC Lock Haven; and president, Susquehanna Ventures. Reynolds is also deeply engaged in community service and brings a thoughtful, mission-driven approach to leadership. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
