Dr. Jones will be joining the UAHS team of experienced general surgeons that includes Luis Gonzalez, MD, Eduardo Morales, MD, Dadrie Baptiste, MD, Safi Malik, MD, and Zahid Chohan, MD, general and vascular surgery.
Dr. Jones will be specializing in the following procedures: laparoscopic gallbladder removal and appendectomy, hernia repairs, inguinal, umbilical, and ventral, small bowel and colon resection, breast lumpectomy and mastectomy, thyroidectomy, upper endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
“I have various procedures that I perform more frequently due to the commonality of the diagnosis. However, I always like to think of myself as a true general surgeon,” said Dr. Jones. “I have the ability to adapt and address the needs of the patients through my diverse skillset.”
Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine, TX. He completed his general surgery residencies at University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, TN, Steward Easton Hospital, PA, and University of Illinois at Chicago, Mount Sinai Hospital, IL. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and American Medical Association.
“We’re happy to be expanding the surgical team with the addition of Dr. Jones. What’s great about this team is we have a variety of surgeons that can collaborate on cases and provide 24/7 coverage for any emergent surgical needs,” said Jill Owens, MD, president, UAHS. “We want the region we serve, and beyond, to know about the services available and that they can trust our experienced team with their care.”
Dr. Jones is accepting new patients at Olean General Hospital on the second floor in the General Surgery Suite at 515 Main Street, Olean, NY 14760. Appointments can be made by calling (716) 701-1711. Once credentialed through Pennsylvania, he will begin seeing patients in Bradford.
“I perform surgery compassionately to improve my patient’s quality of life and health. There is nothing like a patient’s trust in a surgeon. I seek to engage that trust with my knowledge and skills to benefit every patient,” explained Dr. Jones.
