Portville Fire District – Engine Company #1

Today just before 3pm we along with Westons Mills were dispatched to a reported truck into a tree near the car wash on route 417. Chief 3, Rescue 46, Em 218 and Ems captain responded shortly after dispatch. Chief 3 arrived on scene and updated dispatch that the accident was a pickup truck towing a loaded horse trailer vs a box truck.

At this time he requested an engine, ambulance and fire police from Westons Mills to the scene. Route 417 was shut down to one lane of traffic while crews from Portville and Westons worked to secure the scene and treat the patients.

2 patients were transported to Olean General for non life threatening injuries. Crews were on scene for approx. 2 hours while vehicles were removed and the scene was cleaned up.

Chief 3 would like to thank everyone involved in today especially those private citizens who stepped up to help take care of the horses and the Village Dpw for there assistance as well.
