Timothy R. Thomas, 67, of Ridgway, PA
Timothy R. Thomas, of Ridgway, PA, peacefully departed this life at the age of 67 on Thursday, January 25, 2024 surrounded by his family after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born on March 29, 1956 in Ridgway, PA. He was the son of the late Lloyd R. Thomas (Georgeanna) and Mary T. Viglione Popson (James).
Tim was a 1974 graduate of Ridgway Area High School. After, he enlisted and served in the United States Airforce.
On August 6, 1977, he married the love of his life, Susan Anderson. She survives.
After the United States Airforce, he worked for a defense contractor, attained his college degree, and travelled across the USA and world while raising his family. After returning to Ridgway in 1997, he owned and operated a contracting business, Christmas tree farm, and clock repair. He taught industrial electronics at I.T.E.C. and retired from Dickinson Center, Inc. as the Program Director of Elkwood Arts.
Tim was a true craftsman. He built his family’s residence. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He could be found listening to bluegrass while working on projects in his workshop or barn. He maintained a garden and homestead. He could fix anything but a broken heart.
Tim is survived by his children: Andrew Thomas (Adrienne Burns), Anna Fernan (Mike), John Thomas (Renee), Mark Thomas, all of Ridgway, PA; his grandchildren: Carli, Drew, Lyla, Jack, Calvin, Claire, Brody, Clyde, and two special teenagers, Owen and Nora; three siblings, Mary Lynn Parson (James) of Shippenville, PA, Christina Delhunty (James) of Ridgway, PA, James Popson (Angela) of Ridgway, PA. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853.
A memorial service with reception to follow will be held on January 29, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Krise Funeral Home following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the STEAM program at the Ridgway Area School District to further the education of our youth. Tim delighted in the science and technology education of his grandchildren.
