Thomas L. “Tom” Bells, Jr., 51, of Whitesville, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, March, 10, 2025, in NYU Langone Hospital, NY, NY, after a long period of declining health.
Born on Saturday, July 14, 1973 in Brockport, NY, he was a son of Thomas L. Bells, Sr. and Bethany Baker Bells Peet. On May 13, 1995 in Waterport, NY, he married Vicki M. Lamb, who survives.
Tom was a graduate of Kendall High School, Class of 1991, in Kendall NY. He graduated from RIT with a degree in computer programming.
Tom was an accomplished craftsman and machinist. During his career he was employed by ABB, Dresser-Rand/Siemens, and Corning Glass, often working on cutting edge technologies.
He was a member of the Whitesville Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He also enjoyed carpentry and had been remodeling his home until his illness. Tom’s greatest love was his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 30 years, Vicki; his mother, Bethany Peet; three sons, Tyler Bells, Bryan Bells, and Hunter Bells; six siblings, Steven (Carol) Czskai, Michael Bells, Victoria (Tony) Burgio, Christina Cowburn, Marian (Thomas) Nersinger, and Amy (Tim) Bittner; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his best friend, Ben Thompson.
In addition to his father, Tom was predeceased by his stepfather, Marion “Mark” Peet.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on a date and place to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom’s name may be made to the Independence Emergency Squad, 508 Main Street, Whitesville, NY 14897.
Tom’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
