Thomas J. Bell, Sr., age 76, of Elkland, PA passed away at his home on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Born August 16, 1947 in Rexford, NY, he was the son of the late Earl and Amy (Smith) Bell.
Tom served during the Vietnam War in the US Army, was a Tioga County Fire Police for many years, a member of the Clymer Hose Volunteer Fire Company and a lifetime member of the Sabinsville Ambulance Association.
In his younger years, he enjoyed riding horse, hunting, playing croquet and CB radio; where he was known as Midnight Cowboy. Tom liked watching western movies, Nascar and wrestling, listening to old country music, watching his grandson race at Woodhull Raceway and playing corn hole. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 30 years; Peggy C. (Johnston) Bell; children, Thomas (Dodie) Bell, Jr. of Westfield, Larry (Carol) Bell of Westfield, Paul Hanes and Melissa (Paul) Button of Elkland; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Helena Smith; two brothers, Earl and Larry Bell and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Roberta Smith.
Friends may call at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Monday, Nov. 27th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00PM with Rev. Larry O’Dell officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Sabinsville Cemetery.
