Thomas E. “Tom” Wilson, 77, a lifelong resident of Hebron, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Born on Wednesday, August 13, 1947 in Coudersport, he was a son of James E. and Delores V. Gilbert Wilson. On April 19, 1965 in Olean, NY, he married Ruth L. Hanley, who survives.
Tom was a graduate of Coudersport High School, Class of 1965. After graduating he worked with his father in the family business.
Tom was a member of Eulalia Lodge #342 F&AM, Coudersport and was a member of the Coudersport Consistory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball and baseball. He very much enjoyed his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. His greatest loves were his wife, his family, and animals of all kinds.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years; three sons, Thomas J. “Tom” (Betty) Wilson, Timothy L. “Tim” Wilson, and Jake E. (Heather) Wilson, all of Hebron; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild to be born in April; two brothers, Jess (Patty) Wilson of Hebron and James (Bonnie) Wilson of Shongo, NY; a sister-in-law, Sharon Wilson of Hebron; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a brother, Jack Wilson; and a sister, Norma Jean Bagwell.
Family and friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 1pm with Pastor Hank St. Amour of Hebron Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Coudersport.
Members of Eulalia Lodge #342 F&AM will conduct a memorial service at 12:45pm on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom’s name may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 651, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Tom’s family entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
