Thomas E. Muroski, 83, of 405 Mill Street, Johnsonburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
He was born September 27, 1941, in St. Marys, son of the late Wade J. and Anne M. Kazmierski Muroski. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1959. Following high school, he studied at Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and entered the workforce for Keystone Thermometrics, where he worked for forty-eight years before retiring.
On December 28, 1963, in Holy Rosary Church, Tom married Mary Ellen Griffin, who survives. They were blessed to share sixty years of marriage and were looking forward to celebrating their sixty-first anniversary next month.
In addition to his loving wife, Tom is survived by his children: Amy Imbrogno (Ed) of Raleigh, NC, Mary Lee Barwin (John) of Dauphin, PA, Donna Miller (Dan) of Johnsonburg, Thomas Muroski (Dara) of Coatesville, PA, Rosemary Aiello (Frank) of St. Marys, and Kathleen Rice (Duey) of Masury, OH; ten grandchildren: Dr. Matthew Imbrogno, Regis Barwin (Katie), Joshua Barwin (Emilee), Caleb Barwin (Casey), Elliott Barwin, Michael Miller, Darrik Muroski (Katie), Garrett Muroski (Nicole), Dominic Aiello, and Dylan Aiello; eight great-grandchildren with the ninth due in April; a sister-in-law, Jane Muroski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Philip C. Muroski, Kenneth J. Muroski, Sr., and Leon T. Muroski. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Tom was a man of strong faith and love for his family. At Holy Rosary Church, he was a lector since 1965 as well as a Eucharistic Minister. He also taught religious education for the Confirmation Classes and fifth graders. He enjoyed sports, playing cards, and going fishing but nothing was more enjoyable for him than spending time with his family that he loved dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:00AM with Rev. Justin Pino, celebrating. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
