Thomas A. Krise, Sr., 85, Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Ridge Road, Kersey, PA
Thomas A. Krise, Sr., 85, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Ridge Road, Kersey, PA passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2023 at Elk Haven Nursing Home with his son by his side.
He was born March 19, 1938 in Toby, son of the late Oden and Christine Billotte Krise. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Toby schools. He was a hard worker at an early age and started his career as a mechanic at the Buick garage in Ridgway and ultimately retiring as a millwright mechanic at Keystone.
On March 23, 1957 in Ridgway, he married the late Joan Helen Bugden, who preceded him in death on February 22, 2012.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Tracy Huff of Butler; his son, Thomas A. Krise, Jr. and his special friend, Sonya Dippold of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters: Dorothy Schneider (Michael) of Daguscahonda and Helen Prechtl of Daguscahonda.
Along with his wife and parents, Tom was preceded in death by seven brothers: Herman, Clair “Bill”, Calvin “Joe”, Edward “Charles”, Richard, John, and William Krise.
Tom was an avid hunter and an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed picking leaks in the spring and making tea out of sassafras roots. He rooted for the New York Yankees and cherished each moment with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Tom will be held in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10:00AM with Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery in Kersey.
There will be no visitation.
