Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 11 at 1:30AM EST until December 12 at 4:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT…Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 6 to
10 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high
as 35 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow in open areas.

* WHERE…Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and far Southern Erie Counties.
The greatest accumulations will be across the higher terrain
inland from Lake Erie and well south of the Buffalo Southtowns.

* WHEN…Until 4 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and
poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday
morning and evening commutes.

INSTRUCTIONS: Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
