THIS COMING TUESDAY, DEC. 20 IS DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR TRIP TO SEE GREAT AMERICAN OUTDOOR SHOW IN HARRISBURG ON SATURDAY, FEB. 4
Members of the Tioga County Women’s Shooting Society are inviting anyone interested to go on a one-day trip to the Great American Outdoor Show, which is celebrating hunting, fishing and outdoor traditions that are treasured by millions of Americans and their families.
The deadline to register is this coming Tuesday, Dec. 20, just in time to make a great Christmas gift.
Featured at the show being held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 will be nearly 1,000 exhibitors in nine halls of guns, archery, fishing tackle, tree stands, boats, campers, RVs and more.
The Eddie Eagle Kid’s Zone, located in the Hunting Outfitter Hall, offers activities for the whole family, free of charge. Activities are: Rock climbing, wildlife identification, arts & crafts, face painting, and basketball court with prizes for all.
There will be live fishing demonstrations.
The 3D Bowhunter Challenge in the Archery Range Hall will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 4. In the Large Arena will be the DockDogs Competition from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the Dueling Dogs or doggie drag racing competition being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 4, the dock and pool will be divided to create a single lane for each of the two dogs competing. The fastest dog to get to its bumper will be the winner.
The NRA Foundation’s Wall of Guns featuring over 40 firearms, including rifles, pistols, and shotguns is a must-see. For a $10 raffle ticket, get a chance to win a prize from the wall.
The $100 per person fee includes round trip bus transportation to and from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, hostess service and admission to the Great American Outdoor Show. The fee does not include meals.
The fee must be paid in advance in order to reserve a seat on the bus. For reservations, call Michelle Lawrence at 570-404-7738 on or before Dec. 20.
Those who go will board a motorcoach at the Benedict’s Bus Service terminal in Whitneyville near Wellsboro beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 and will depart from there around 6:15 a.m.
Arrangements can also be made to pick up and drop off passengers at Mansfield, Blossburg, Liberty or Williamsport.
The motorcoach will stop for a fast food breakfast at McDonald’s in Selinsgrove, Pa. and arrive in Harrisburg at the complex around 10 a.m. that morning. Attendees will have lunch on their own while there.
At 4:30 p.m., the motorcoach will leave from Harrisburg with a dinner break for attendees at Marzoni’s in Selinsgrove at 5:30 p.m. and arrive at the terminal in Whitneyville at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 4.
