THIS COMING MONDAY, AUG. 14 IS DEADLINE FOR “EARLY BIRD COMBO” FOR WCCA SUBSCRIBERS TO ATTEND TUSK CONCERT ON WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 13 AND SIX SEASON CONCERTS
On or before this coming Monday, Aug. 14, Wellsboro Community Concert Association season subscribers can opt for an “Early Bird Combo” package for $100. Included in that package is the Tusk concert on Wednesday Sept. 13 for $25 ($14 off the $39 ticket price) and a $75 season subscription for the six-concert series or $12.50 per concert.
The Wellsboro Community Concert Association is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a special seventh concert in the 2023-2024 season plus six traditional concerts for $12.50 each with a season subscription.
“Our subscribers have been asking us to bring Tusk, the World’s Number One Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, to Wellsboro ever since their two sellout performances in 2019,” said Russ Dodson, concert association president.
“As a thank you to subscribers and to celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are bringing Tusk back for two nights this year, Wednesday, Sept. 13 for season
subscribers and Thursday. Sept. 14 for the general public,” said Dodson.
The five-member band Tusk, including Tom Nelson on drums, was formed In March of 2008,” said Nelson who lives in Liberty in Tioga County, Pa. “A friend of ours asked if we would do a tribute to Fleetwood Mac for one night at his club. We are now in our 15th year as Tusk,” he said.
The group leaves no stone unturned in replicating the sounds of one of the world’s best-loved, top-selling bands.
All seven concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
Adults 19 and older can choose a season pass for $75 for the six-concert series ($12.50 per concert); students 13 to 18, a season pass for $25 ($4.17 per concert) and free for youngsters 12 and under when accompanied by a paying adult.
Non-subscribers can purchase tickets for the Sept. 14 Tusk performance for $39 and individual tickets for concerts in the series for $25 each.
The six concerts are: Saturday, Sept. 9 — Rory Block, one of the world’s top female blues performers; Saturday, Oct. 21 —Kommuna Lux, an Odesa Gangsta Folk band from Ukraine; Friday, Dec. 8 —Driftwood performing their electrifying style of Americana folk rock; Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 — the John Jorgenson Quintet performing Gypsy Jazz; Saturday, March 23, 2024 — The Gothard Sisters, a dynamic trio of Celtic singers, musicians and step dancers; and Saturday, April 13, 2024 — Fireside Collective, a progressive bluegrass group.
