The Warehouse Theatre in Wellsboro Presents “Puffs”
Opening this Thursday evening at 7:30pm at the Warehouse Theatre in Wellsboro, Puffs has been rehearsing since mid-June under the guidance of director Cody Losinger to present this hysterical twist on the well-known Potter series. The cast is made up of both seasoned young performers and some who are brand new to the stage.
As director, Losinger brings experience as both a performer and director, having graduated from Lycoming College with a degree in both theater performance and music. He has been seen in many Hamilton-Gibson productions and at other venues since childhood, and continues to write, perform and direct for theater and film. He is now heading up this main stage production at HG to celebrate the Comic Con weekend in Wellsboro.
In the past week Mr. Losinger, the cast, and the crew have put the final touches on the heartwarming story of Puffs, the Potter-inspired tale of a group of kids not necessarily destined for 1st place, but who find their own greatness along the way all the same. Mr. Losigner shares that “…the thing that drew me to this story was how it highlights the forgotten kids, the non-overachievers, the kids who are struggling, and it tells their story with a lot of heart but also with tons of humor ”
When not directing, Cody is a supervising case-worker for Tioga County Children and Youth and is working towards his Masters in Education. His ability to work positively with youth and young adults is evident in the way he has inspired and supported the cast as they put together the telling of this heart-warming story.
Actor June Roth, recently seen in the original production Women, and as the lead in last season’s Anne of Green Gables states, ““Hamilton-Gibson is amazing at bringing our community together to perform and have fun!” Her co-star Jaden Bartlett remarks. “I have really enjoyed working on this production. I love this script and these characters, and Cody has a clear vision for this show from the outset that I have been delighted to help him bring to life. Cody has been a great director who obviously cares so much about the show and all of the people in it.”
The show opens Thursday night at 7:30pm, and continues Friday evening at 7:30, Saturday at both 12:00pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday at 2:30pm. The show and opening night celebration (Thursday evening) is sponsored by David Kenner Boley and Emily & Ken Childs. Ward Manufacturing is the overall sponsor of Hamilton-Gibson’s 2024 season.
