The Rotary Club of Bradford Provides New Coats to Local Children.
[Bradford, PA] – Over 156 children in the Bradford Area School District, in local Headstart classrooms and through CARE for Children’s Early Intervention program received brand-new coats this week from the Rotary Club of Bradford.
The project was supported by proceeds from the annual Rotary Golf Tournament, the Blaisdell Foundation and a matching grant from Rotary District #7280.
“A warm coat is an essential item for children in our community,” said Ben Kirsch, President of the Rotary Club of Bradford. “We are proud to work with Operation Warm, the Blaisdell Foundation and District #7280 on this initiative to make an impact on our community – especially this year, when more families than ever are in need.”
For the ninth consecutive year, Rotary has partnered with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing warmth, confidence and hope for children in need. Founded in 1998, Operation Warm and its partners have served over 5 million children across North America with brand-new coats and shoes.
“The Rotary Club of Bradford is committed to making a difference locally through community service and volunteerism; and worldwide through our support of the Rotary Foundation,” said Kirsch. “I am grateful to all the Rotarians who support this project and our community partners and friends who help Rotary meet its mission of ‘Service above Self.’”
