THE CLEMENTS BROTHERS TO PERFORM IN WELLSBORO NEXT FRIDAY, MARCH 28

Next Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. the Clements Brothers, identical twins from the heart of New England, will perform in the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
George on guitar and Charles on upright bass are both singers and songwriters. They grew up in a musical family. The two have been playing and writing music together for as long as they can remember.
The twins were formally trained in music. Charles studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. George is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music.
They first entered the Americana music scene in 2012 as part of the internationally touring grassroots group “The Lonely Heartstring Band.” They spent about seven years with the band, which put out two albums on Rounder Records.
Most recently, George was playing the role of Paul Simon in the hit national act “The Simon and Garfunkel Story” while Charles could often be found on stage with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Now, The Clements Brothers are marking their first original project together, focused on capturing their singer-songwriter sensibilities with harmonies only achievable by their identical voices at once enthralling and intimate, groovy and serene.
Drummer Mike Harmon (Grain Thief) joined the band in 2023 after an impromptu late night set at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival in Maine. He added his roots-conscious musicality to the group’s evolving sound. The trio is a fusion of each member’s musical journey, and the result is a sound all its own, filled with vocal harmonies, instrumental virtuosity, and a genuine love of song.
On August 25, 2023 they released their debut full-length album, “Dandelion Breeze” on Plow Man Records. This acoustic gem is an appealing blend of roots, rock, bluegrass, jazz and classical influences, elevated by awe-inspiring vocal harmonies and instrumental excellence.
The twins have created a collection of songs that make the most of the uncanny blend of their voices. The pair trade off lead vocals throughout the album, sometimes doubling on a melody before breaking into a harmony that is gentler than that of other brothers their sound brings to mind — The Everly Brothers or The Louvin Brothers.
The album features all original material written by the twins except one track. The brothers take on Nirvana’s “All Apologies,” which suits their vocal style so well it could have been written for them. Soothing and soul nourishing, the Clements Brothers’ music is easy to listen to and easy to like. Their songs honor the kind of music many love but in a fresh, new way.
