Tanya Louise Boyd, aged 55, passed away on September 30, 2025, at home, surrounded by her friends and family in Gainesville, FL. Born on April 4, 1970, Tanya grew up in Mt. Jewett graduating from Kane Area High School in 1989 and later earned an associate degree in Applied Science from Santa Fe Community College.

Tanyas career was marked by her role as a general manager in various capacities before she settled at SweetBerries in Gainesville, where she continued to work until her passing. Her work ethic and leadership were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

A woman of deep faith, Tanya was devoted to Christ and exemplified her beliefs through her actions and words. She was known for her love of music, singing, dancing, and cooking. A passionate Florida Gators fan, Tanya also had an impeccable sense of style, always choosing the perfect outfit or accessory for any occasion.

Tanya cherished adventures with her friends and family, creating lasting memories that they will hold dear. Her generosity, compassion, and fierce loyalty made her a beacon of light and strength to all who knew her. An animal lover at heart, she never missed an opportunity to make a new furry friend.

Tanya is survived by her sisters, Maria (Sergei) Swanson and Laurie Slater; brothers, Shannon Boyd, Matthew Self, and Bruce Slater; her cherished Aunt Verna Slater; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind very special friends Angela & Chris, Meka, Janis, Amy, and Sherry. She was preceded in death by Marion (Slater) Self, her Mother and Uncle Bruce Slater.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to your local animal shelter or a cancer research institution in Tanya’s memory. Tanyaa€™s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
