Suzanne M. Lear-South, 74, of Bradford
Suzanne M. Lear-South, 74, of Cedar Street passed away Monday (Oct. 14, 2024) surrounded by her loving husband and sons at The Pavilion at BRMC.
Born Aug. 19, 1950, in Erie, she was a daughter of the late Neal G. and Tonette “Toni” F. (Curcio) Lear. She was a 1968 graduate of Bradford High School.
On Jan. 16, 1971, at St. Bernard Church, she married Robert A. South, who survives.
After high school, Susie was employed at Case Cutlery in the shipping department. She also worked for Dan Ross at Colors Galore, and she was a private home decorator and did wallpapering. Susie also worked for Bradford Township as a cleaning contractor for 30 years, until retiring.
Susie was a member of St. Bernard Church and Zonta Club. She was a Cub Scout mother, Boy Scout Leader while her children were younger, and she bowled on Thursday nights for 30 years. Suzanne enjoyed caring for her pets, gardening and collecting items at garage sales.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Bob, of 53 years, are two sons, David M. South and Marc A. South, both of Bradford; one granddaughter, Abigail South of Erie; and many cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles.
Family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Ed Walk, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
