‘Stop Except Right Turn’ Sign To Be Installed At Front Mountain Road Intersection In Mifflin County

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the installation of new signage at the intersection of Route 4004 (Front Mountain Road) and Peachey Road in Union Township, Mifflin County. This new stop condition will improve safety for the motoring public traveling through the intersection.
PennDOT will install a “Stop Except Right Turn” sign on Front Mountain Road, facing eastbound traffic, at the intersection of Peachey Road. The sign is intended to stop traffic bearing left onto Peachey Road, reducing the risk of collisions with other oncoming traffic. Traffic continuing to the right on Route 4004 will not be required to stop.
Message boards will be in place to alert drivers to the coming change in the weeks before the sign is installed. PennDOT expects the sign to be in place in November. A red flashing light will be mounted on the sign for the first month to further alert drivers to the new stop condition.
