Stephanie L. Lion, 43, of 144 Martin Road, St. Marys, PA.
Stephanie L. Lion, 43, of 144 Martin Road, St. Marys, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
She was born October 21, 1980, in St. Marys daughter of Elizabeth A. Swanson Lion and the late Richard C. Lion, who preceded her in death on October 16, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1999. Following graduation she attended Penn State University where she graduated with a degree in Family Behavioral Science. She was employed at Penn Highlands Elk for 20 years before she retired to care for her father, Dick.
In addition to her loving mother, she is survived by her longtime companion, Ryan Winters; three daughters: Kaitlynn Weidow, Emily Weidow, Allison Winters; son, Rhett Winters; sisters: Rebecca Mitchell (Joshua) of Canonsburg and Ashley Lion-Hnath of St. Marys; brother, Christopher Lion of St. Marys; nieces and nephews: Terra, CJ, Jordan, and Phoenix; uncles and aunts, David and Kathy Lion and Dean and Dolly Benson; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Clarence and Florence Swanson and paternal grandparents, Theodore and Kathryn Lion.
Stephanie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She put her family above anything else. She supported the many activities of her children and was a dedicated Band Mom for SMAHS. Stephanie enjoyed hunting and spending time with her family and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at Shiloh Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 10:00AM, with Pastor Scott Wiest, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
