BRADFORD, PA / OLEAN, NY – Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) and Olean General Hospital (OGH), Kaleida Health facilities, are proud to announce the winners of the February Star Award. This month’s recipients were Kim Murphey, BRMC, and Brenda Gordon, OGH.

Kim Murphey, administrative assistant, BRMC, has been honored as the February BRMC Star Award winner. Kim has been with BRMC since 2021, but employed by the hospital system since 2014.

“Kim is truly amazing at what she does! She’s always kind, patient, and understanding whenever she is called upon, and she has a remarkable ability to find exactly the information requested. Whether it’s helping individuals connect with a new doctor, figuring out where to send specific documents, or directing calls, Kim is incredibly resourceful and dependable,” said her nomination. “So many people count on Kim to get exactly what is needed, efficiently and effectively. Thank you so much for everything you do, Kim—you’re greatly appreciated!”

Brenda Gordon, a member of the environmental services team at OGH since 2014, was honored with the February OGH Star Award.

“Brenda is an integral part of the OGH emergency department team. She is efficient, friendly, and always goes the extra mile to ensure the emergency department looks amazing. Brenda is highly efficient and dedicated to completing her workload. Her ability to complete her tasks demonstrates her teamwork and understanding of others’ workloads. This doesn’t go unnoticed,” said her nomination. “Brenda’s dedication and positive attitude really make a difference in her co-workers’ day.”

The Star Award is presented monthly to an employee who demonstrates outstanding performance and inspires the same in others. Staff are nominated for exceptional customer satisfaction, continuous performance improvement, teamwork, communication, ownership/accountability, and excellence through co-worker or patient nominations.

The following were also nominated for Star Awards at BRMC: Patrick McCord, screener; and Angela Taylor, referral authorization specialist. OGH nominees were: Cindy Dushaw, RN; Barbara Haas, BSN, RN; and Ryan Malanowski, RN.

Star award recipients receive a chamber of commerce gift certificate, additional paid time off, certificate of recognition, and the star award parking spot.
