Elk County- St. Marys Area United Way board elects new president and recognizes outgoing president for his years of services.

As seen in the photo, on the right, Jim Ryan, United Way Vice-President is recognizing Doug Gaffey with a plaque for his dedication and service as the President of the St. Marys Area United Way.

Doug served as president for the past two years. Jim Ryan, currently serves as Vice-President and has been elected as President of the St. Marys Area United Way effective January 1, 2024.

Doug will continue to serve as a United Way board member. Mr. Ryan will serve as president until December 31, 2025 along with Doug Bauer, Vice-President, Bill Olson; Secretary, and board members Doug Gaffey, John Dippold, Jane Olson, Bob Ordiway, Jeff Azzato, Erica Hayes, Becky Piccolo, Rachel Rhed, Rob O’Leary, Jason Gabler, Steve Stoltz, Pete Straub, Leah Whiteman, and Mark Saline.  Barb Glatt will continue to serve as the United Way’s Finance Director and Treasurer along with Jen Dippold as Executive Director.

The St. Marys Area United Way has served the citizens of our community since 1925. Making a contribution to the St. Marys Area United Way allows you to provide support to local organizations. The funds raised by the United Way go directly toward supporting our families, friends, and neighbors. The United Way 2023 campaign goal is $200,000. As a result of the 2022 campaign, the St. Marys Area United Way board approved and granted awards in February of 2023 to Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Boys & Girls Club of St. Marys, Boys Scouts-Bucktail Council, CAPSEA, Catholic Charities, City of St. Marys Parks and Recreation, Crystal Fire Department, Dickinson Center, Elkland Search and Rescue, First United Methodist Church Youth Program, Girl Scouts of Western PA, Guardian Angel Center, St. Marys Area School District, St. Marys Library and the Veteran’s Memorial-Eternal Flame located on the Diamond downtown St. Marys.
